It’s been technically in the making since we came up with the idea of ALMANIA, and yesterday we celebrated number 10 with our biggest lineup, setup and concept ever!
The idea of 3 rooms here at The Alma always seemed like a good idea, but we never really thought it would happen, but after the success of adding in a hard style room every Almania dubbed as The Dark Room, it was natural during planning to top that with a 3rd, introducing RnB to our upstairs area!.. Who knows, next time we might open a 4th and play classical…… Jokes!
Even when the rain comes down, our Almania crew sure know how to get a day going, from 1pm everyone started rolling in, keen to get started, and from 2pm it was game on!
4pm the dark room and upstairs opened, and come 6pm it was time to start with our guest DJs
Playing last in our upstairs RnB Room after Morgen Wynn and Michael Wilson, Rojdar, well he’s a special character – Playing all things RnB & Party, getting silly and singing along to the likes of Brittany Spears and Pink, and everyone loved it!
Next up was Orkestrated in the Dark Room – These guys are hugely respected within the industry, known as veterans of their craft, gurus and all round nice guys.. Their tracks are heavy and perfectly suited to the vibe of closing set in the dark room!
Playing all things heavy, after two killer sets from DJs Miki and Tommy CJ… One things for sure, the dark room is here to stay for Almania’s…
The main event was soon here, Press Play took the stage just after Lachy P and Fresh Til Death, after a few shots, and the bottle from his rider, it was game on. The Upstairs Room and Dark Room closed up and we filled the main stage with everyone keen for the main event! It was basically 90 minutes of bangers, and the crowd got around it like crazy!
Straight after Press Play, Lachy P took the stage again for a closing set, playing everything filthy and heavy that kept us going til midnight…
All in all, the day was huge.. It was awesome to put together a 3 room event, but we’ll just have to think about how we’ll top it for Almania 20, scheduled to land sometime around 2020… VR room maybe?
Next up is Almania 11, and it’s sooner than you think… We’ll be announcing very soon, so keep an eye out!
